These programs are our way of thanking our loyal customers for supporting their local independent bookseller.

 

Sirius Reader Program 

If you're a serious reader, become a Sirius Reader, too! As a Sirius Reader, you will receive a $10 coupon every time you spend $200 at The Galaxy Bookshop. Online orders can count toward this amount if picked up at The Galaxy Bookshop. 
When you become a Sirius Reader, you opt into our mailing list*. We would like your mailing address, phone number, and email address so that we can mail postcards about Galaxy readings and events and e-mail reminders about these events and other Galaxy news. Please note that we want you to be informed and not overwhelmed - anything we send will be mailed judiciously.

 

*We consider it our responsibility to you, and to the First Amendment, to respect your privacy. We will not share, sell, or disclose any personal information you provide to us, including, but not limited to, your addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, without your permission. Furthermore, we will defend your right to privacy by legal means, if necessary.

 

Copernicus Classroom Discount 

In appreciation for our area teachers and their commitment to their jobs and the children they teach, The Galaxy Bookshop is extending a discount of 20% on all books purchased for the classroom. This discount is also offered to homeschooling parents who shop at The Galaxy Bookshop for school-related books. Teachers do not need to present a purchase order to receive the discount, but without a PO, sales tax will apply, as stated below.

 

Certain restrictions will apply to these sales: 
1. Some textbooks may be excluded from discounts. These are books on which we receive little or no discount from the publisher, and are therefore unable to pass on a discount to the customer. 
2. Gift certificates are excluded from discounts. 
3. With a school purchase order, books are exempt from Vermont sales tax. Otherwise, Vermont sales tax applies. 
4. Teachers as individuals may also be Sirius Readers. This program entitles readers to a $10 coupon each time they spend $200. Books sold at a discount for classroom use will not be applied toward the Sirius Reader program.
