Northeast Kingdom author Beth Kanell will visit to read from and sign copies of her latest book for teens, The Secret Room. When Shawna and her new best friend--Thea, a "flatlander"--discover a hidden room in the basement of Thea's house, they begin to investigate the purpose of the room and uncover unknown pieces of the town's history. Meanwhile, secrets of a more personal nature begin to be revealed in Shawna's life, and she's not sure how they will affect her newfound friendship.
